Our Background
-Owner/Driver Chris Uzzi-
Chris is a dynamic and accomplished individual who embodies the spirit of speed, competition, and winning. Hailing from the heart of New Jersey his early years were defined by an impressive career in competitive ice hockey. Chris led his team to many victories and numerous championships. At the age of fifteen, he began racing motorcycles in the prestigious AMA circuit while working at renowned motorcycle shop. Chris attended NASCAR Technical Institute graduating with exemplary grades. He then completed specialized training at BMW. Chris was employed at Hendrick BMW. He had 13 fruitful years with BMW and excelled as a team leader while he ran the dealer Motorsports/Performance division. Chris was also the driver of the dealer SCCA BMW race car. In 2016 he assembled a group of talented individuals who shared his vision of conquering the open seas. This was the birth of the renowned offshore race team NB13 Racing. Chris recently acquired a cutting-edge Skater 399 race boat for Pro-Class Super V. The 40’ twin engine V-bottom boat was a previous Multinational Championship and Multi Country Championship boat (Malta, Sicily, Spain, Italy, UK, Tunisia, Germany, France). Off the course, NB13 Motorsports, an 8000 sq. ft. facility is owned and operated by Chris and his dedicated wife Rachelle.
The shop specializes in high performance marine services. Servicing customers from the Midwest to the East Coast.
His passion for speed doesn’t stop there; it has been passed on to his now 4 yr. old daughter who runs an outlaw kart. Chris and his family live, breathe and eat motorsports. Chris is poised to leave an indelible mark on the sport of offshore racing while inspiring others to chase their dreams with fervor and unwavering determination.

-Throttles/ Rob Hartmann-
Rob has always had a passion for the water and boating which began while growing up and boating on the coastal waterways of Connecticut. In 2018 he was the driver for The American Out Law team when they took the Class 4 National Championships! Rob also raced Class 5 with his 27' Kryptonite. From performance boating to poker runs and the courses of the OPA, Rob is an up and coming staple in the offshore racing community. He has raced with NB13 racing since 2019 and continues to bring a dominating talent on the throttles to the team. Rob's commitment to racing is 2nd to none and he has made it a goal to compete at the highest level in the sport which he is on his way to do in the new 399 Skater the team has acquired for Super V. Rob actively engages with fans when he his not in the boat, sharing his experiences and promoting our sponsors and team brand. Rob states he is "driven by a hunger for victory".

-Team Manager/ Davin Vesey-
Raised in the Bay Area of California, Davin found his love for the water as a crewman on the Sea Explorer Ship Phoenix, moored in Oakland. Early in his adulthood he became a volunteer first responder and continues that endeavor today. After relocating to North Carolina he began his racing career as a Trackside Communications Specialist in NASCAR. Later, he made the move to INDYCAR where he helped Dan Wheldon and Bryan Herta Autosport win the 2011 Indy 500. Davin's experience in motorsport racing and attention to detail makes him a perfect fit for Team Manager and an integral part of this team. Powerboat racing is a perfect blend of Davin’s love for motorsports and the water.

Introducing a highly skilled and dedicated crew member joining the ranks of the NB13 Racing Team. Hailing from Boothbay Harbor, Maine, Dan's racing journey is marked by multiple go-kart track championships, successful legend car racing up and down the East Coast, and invaluable contributions to his brother's super late model team. With top-class education from the NASCAR Technical Institute and BMW STEP specialty training, he brings 18 years of experience from Hendrick BMW, including 7 years as a shop foreman. His expertise, precision, and unwavering dedication make him an invaluable asset to the high-octane world of offshore boat racing.
-Chief Mechanic/ Chris Unger-
Chris comes from the great state of New York, spending his free time boating in the Thousand Islands and the rest of the Great Lakes Chain. His marine knowledge comes second to none with a lifetime of marine engine building experience. He is a great asset to the team, not only as a chief mechanic but as the teams’ exclusive engine builder, HNC Engines. Chris’ experience and unwavering reputation for attention to detail on marine builds has allowed him the great pleasure of working with many other great engine builders in the industry. Chris and Jordan Hersey from Areion Racing engines have collaborated on projects in the past and will be working together on the 399 Skater build. Chris lives by the team motto, “To finish 1st you must first finish.”
